The Walk Away Win
Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona
Project Overview
This project began with a well-kept home in a prime Old Town Scottsdale location - solid structure, thoughtful layout, and plenty of potential. The goal wasn’t to over-renovate, but to reimagine the home in a way that felt open, intentional, and aligned with how the homeowners live today.
Rather than chasing trends, the focus was on enhancing flow, restoring character, and making strategic updates that balanced design, function, and longevity.
Design Approach
The renovation centered on thoughtful, high-impact changes that respected the home’s original character while elevating everyday living.
Key moves included opening the kitchen and living area, restoring the home’s double-sided fireplace to its midcentury roots, and layering in warm, modern finishes throughout. Original cabinetry was reused and refinished where possible, allowing the budget to be directed toward meaningful upgrades and improved functionality.
Closets were reconfigured to better support daily life, bathrooms were refreshed with a timeless approach, and the kitchen pantry was transformed into a more functional, butler-style space.
Behind the scenes, critical system updates ensured the home performs just as beautifully as it looks.
