Giving Back in 2020

Lifestyle

Every year, I host clients, friends, industry colleagues and the team of trades I work with in my remodels for a Holiday Party – I only ask folks to bring an unwrapped gift to donate to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Having spent some time during holidays at the University of Michigan Hospital when my dad was having surgeries or treatment for his cancer… I know how important it is for families to feel some sense of “normal” while they or their loved ones are hospitalized during the holiday season. I look forward to dropping off our collective donation to Phoenix Children’s Hospital Holiday Toy Drive with my “niece,” Emerson, so that she learns the gift of giving too.

I’m grateful I’m in a position in my life and my career that I can give back. In 2020 I committed to contribute more to causes near and dear to my heart (and possibly your heart!) in the following ways:

Every home sale closing (whether I represent the seller or the buyer) a contribution of $150 will be made to my client’s favorite non-profit holding a 501(c)3 status.

Every home rental closing (whether I represent the landlord or tenant) a contribution of $25 will be made to my client’s favorite non-profit holding a 501(c)3 status.

A contribution of 1% of all fees collected for design and consulting services will be made at the close of 2020 to one or more deserving non-profits holding a 501(c) 3 status.

And as a reason to have another party or two in 2020, I’ll be hosting the following events in addition to my annual holiday party:

Spring 2020 – Event Benefiting Halo Animal Rescue. This event will be hosted by my sidekick, Big Whiskey, and will be dog friendly, and support our local dog friendly businesses.

Late Summer / Fall 2020 – I’m still exploring who/what this event should benefit, but I was thinking Veterans, Homeless or LGBTQ. Ideally, I’d like it to benefit our local community and the people here. I’m open to ideas, suggestions and ideas – so please share!

Through the years, my business has been built on the support of those around me. Friends who encourage me and refer me to their friends, family and colleagues. Clients who trust me to help them find the perfect home and protect their best interests through the purchase process. It’s because of this support of the communities I’m a part of that I feel not only a need or desire, but also an obligation to give back to this community.

We are all in this life together, and the energy I wish to bring to my business is it’s not just about my clients, or myself, it’s bigger than all of that combined.
