Just Listed in Loma Linda: A 1950 Ranch, Renovated with a Designer's Eye

Some houses you list. This one, we got to bring back to life.

At 2319 E Earll Drive, in the heart of central Phoenix's Historic Loma Linda neighborhood, a 1950 block ranch has just come to market … 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1,416 square feet on a single level, offered at $568,000. But the numbers are the least interesting part of this story. Let me show you around.

The Neighborhood Most of Phoenix Drives Right Past

Loma Linda sits quietly between SR-51 and 24th Street, from Indian School down to Thomas … a pocket of post-war ranches and vintage bungalows where mid-century character survived while so much of the city changed around it. A tight-knit neighborhood association keeps it that way, and an emerging cluster of antique shops and local eateries dots the surrounding blocks.

Locals know the lore, too. The corner of 24th and Thomas was once Green Gables, the 1939 castle-themed supper club where a knight on horseback greeted arriving dinner guests. The knight is long retired, but the neighborhood kept its sense of place … today that same stretch of 24th Street holds Tandy's Café for your morning coffee, Rewined for an evening glass, The Wandering Tortoise for a rotating Arizona tap list, and Twigs and Twine for vintage furniture finds. All of it within a few blocks of this front door.

And the location math is hard to argue with: five minutes to the Biltmore, ten minutes to Sky Harbor straight down 24th Street, and ten to Old Town Scottsdale.

A Renovation That Respects the House

As a designer, my favorite renovations are the ones where you can't tell where 1950 ends and today begins … where the updates feel original to the home. That was the brief here.

The bones stayed. Arched openings still carry you from living to dining to kitchen, the way this house has flowed for seventy-five years. The block construction, the single-level, no-step layout … all preserved. What changed is everything you touch: wide-plank flooring runs unbroken through every room, and black-framed dual-pane windows keep the light generous and the rooms quiet.

The kitchen is the anchor. Charcoal cabinetry with brass hardware, quartz counters with soft gold veining, and a full-height slab backsplash that runs the length of the counter. It photographs beautifully … it lives even better.

Both bathrooms were completely, each with its own personality. One wears floor-to-ceiling ribbed tile with brass fixtures and a fluted vanity. The other went the opposite direction … matte black, a light oak floating vanity, and a hex-tile walk-in shower. One bedroom opens directly to its own bath, a quiet luxury in a home this size.

The Backyard Is the Reason to See It in Person

Arizona living happens outside, and this yard was built for it. A deep-end pool sits at the center. A covered patio with exposed beams and a ceiling fan runs along the house. An extended paver patio holds a stacked-stone fire pit for the evenings that deserve one. Block walls with decorative breeze-block detail keep it private, and desert landscaping with a watering system keeps it easy.

Out front: a full-width covered porch with a swing, mature shade trees, an oversized paver walk, and a two-car carport with room for four more on the slab. All of it on an 8,211 square foot lot … with no HOA.

Come See It Sunday

We're hosting an open house Sunday, August 30 from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM … and we're making an afternoon of it, with homemade ice cream sandwiches and sorbet push-up pops from our friends at Ice Cream Pedaler.

Can't make Sunday? Reach out and we'll arrange a private showing!  Link to Listing Information
